Welcome to The Psy Lab
This art project is an homage to all the dreamers, the life trippers, the creators, the healers, the earth explorers and cosmic travelers. The Psy Lab is a space of visual experiment intended to make you travel inside your mind and help you discover new worlds. Each of these psychedelic and meditative mandalas has been created from landscape photographs and based on sacred geometry.
Mandalas have been used in spiritual practice for thousands of years across different religions, cultures and artistic contexts to evoke meditative and healing energies. They are ancient meditative symbols and reveal the underlying connectedness of nature. Their purpose is to help transform our minds into enlightened ones and to assist with healing.
The word mandala arises from the Sanskrit and means sacred circle. Due to their structure based on sacred geometry, mandalas draw our attention inward, unifying the centre of our being with the cosmos, attracting a state of harmony and wholeness. Mandalas act as a bridge between the higher and lower realms.
In today’s society, the link between humans and nature has never been so fragile… The world is moving faster than ever and we are losing the sacred connection with others and within ourselves. The intention behind The Psy Lab and its modern day mandalas is to give you an opportunity to take a break, breathe, admire the beauty of our world, reconnect with yourself and explore your mind.
